In this paper I have summarized most of the research and the resent works on generalization of open sets in a topological space. Majority of the results and the properties on generalized open sets like semi-open set, pre-open set, -open set, -open set, -open set e.t.c. are discussed. The chatacterizations of these sets are also studied.
